John Ross Bowie is ready to re-record the role of Caltech Plasma physicist and string theoreticist Barry Kripke in a spin-off of CBS ‘Long-running Sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” that is currently in the early stages of development in Max.
A person who is familiar with the case says Thewrap says that because the project has not yet received a series of Greenlight, Bowie has signed a hold deal with Warner Bros. Television.
The spin -off comes from Chuck Lorre Productions in collaboration with WBTV. LoRree serves as an executive producer and writer next to Zak Penn and Bill Prady. Additional details about the project remain under wraps.
Other “big bang theory” alums that were ready to return, are Kevin Sussman, who played Stuart Bloom, Brian Posehn, who played Bert Kibbler and played Lauren Lapkus, who played Denise.
Kripke was introduced in season 2 and became a favorite with fans, known for constantly mocked his colleague and rival Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) and his speech design as a result of Rhotacism. He would become a recurring character during the rest of the 12-season run of the show.
