More information about a Morris Minor who gets a makeover!
Wait to your bull bars and fender torches, this Morris Minor is one of the wildest builds we have seen. With the rising popularity of restomods and people who want to push the envelope between New Year’s Eve as far as possible, there have been a few “body swap” over the years. We have seen everything, from the scale of a classic Mustang that is on an S550 chassis to classic truck bodies that are screwed up to the substantiation of a newer model, although these types of projects are probably much more thought than they are actually tried.
For what it is worth, all the examples that come to mind have been somewhat successful in creating a functional vehicle and indicate how much work is involved in this type of project. That said, we really thought we had seen the last of the body. In any case the more extreme one. But that was before Barcroft Cars introduced us to Shane Armitage, which was shown on the ridiculous YouTube channel rides.
The affection of the New Zealand resident for the large American “Woodies” and off-road road drove him to undertake an extreme Build project that crosses a Morris Minor Traveler with a 4×4 Suzuki Vitara. He already had the Suzuki when he found the British Motor Corporation Classic Car Body.
Changing the body to fit the chassis and give that old “Woodie” look, required a huge amount of carbon fiber work, but the end result is something really unique. For Shane this is the perfect 2-in-1 vehicle. It brings him from home to work and back every day and he can hit the path or the local mud hole on his way to the supermarket. Anyone who knew that a Suzuki Vitara could be so capable and a Morris Minor could look so good. We are definitely impressed.
